Aamir Khan and Kajol’s Fanaa wasn’t a route to get into Bollywood; it was a mistake

Sanaya Irani said that Fanaa was a mistake of her career

Sanaya Irani is one of the popular stars of small screen. The actress stunned us with her gorgeous yet simple looks and acting chops in shows like Left Right Left, Miley Jab Hum Tum, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and others. But apart from being successful in TV shows, the actress was also seen in the Aamir Khan and Kajol-starrer Fanaa. This Bollywood flick made a mark on everyone’s heart and the love saga was one-of-its-kind. Sanaya was seen in a small role in the film. When HT asked Sanaya as to why wasn’t she starring in any other films after Fanaa, she said that the film was a mistake of her career.

While speaking about it, she said, “Everyone keeps talking about Fanaa, but let me just make it clear — Fanaa wasn’t a route to get into Bollywood. It was a mistake, honestly. To be in the movie and just walk in the background. When I was offered the film, I thought ‘this sounds fun’. 

However, I had a great time meeting and shooting with Aamir and Kajol, who are great in their craft.” She further added, “I have been offered two-three films, which I have said ‘no’ to — which may have been wrong (on my part), as they went on to become big. But, I haven’t been offered something worth my while.” Well, the audience is eagerly waiting to see the star soon on screen again.

She said also, about her TV career, she said, 

“I remember I started doing TV with youth-centric shows like 

Miley Jab Hum Tum. I have been very lucky in my career to  get good opportunities. I have never done a show in my life    just for the sake of a job.”
